Language Tool is an independent project that proofreads English, French, German, Polish, and 20 more languages. It was created intentionally to be open source and it works directly from the web. The Language Tool API offers access via HTTP/HTTPS and Java application. With HTTP format in mind, the API is limited to 20 requests per IP per minute, maximum text size is 50KB, and only HTTPS is supported. Language Tool is a work in progress and invites developers to add contributions.
