Based on the feed of a TimesPeople user, determines the mood by performing sentiment analysis.
The TimesPeople gadget can be used to show the general feed of actions happening across NYTimes, or you can specify your own activity feed and see what your friends are up to.
The tagline of the Times Open blog is "All the news that's fit to printf()", and that clever play on the paper's motto gains more credence with each new API released. In February the Times introduced the Newswire API, which "provides an up-to-the-minute stream of published items" from the paper of record, and the New York State Legislature API for tracking the political maneuverings in Albany.
The New York Times have just announced their latest web service API: TimesPeople. With this new API, the newspaper of record is giving developers access to their own Times-centric social network. This community feature, launched last spring, lets readers connect via their interest in the paper's content. The TimesPeople API now provides access to TimesPeople data for any user, including their profile, activities, news feed and social network (our TimesPeople profile).
