Pixabay is a website where users can browse through and download high quality photos, vector graphics and art illustrations that are all license free. Pixabay hosts a RESTful API interface for querying and retrieving these CC0 public domain images from Pixabay's directory of over 260,000 photos. The API can be accessed via HTTP address, and returns in JSON unicode. The API is limited to a maximum of 300 search results per query, and requires an API key for access.
The following is a list of sample source code snippets that matched your search term. Source code snippets are chunks of source code that were found out on the Web that you can cut and paste into your own source code. Whereas most of the sample source code we've curated for our directory is for consuming APIs, we occasionally find something interesting on the API provider side of things. If you know of some sample source code that would be of interest to the ProgrammableWeb community, we'd like to know about it. Be sure to check our guidelines for making contributions to ProgrammableWeb.
The Pixabay Android Sample Code by Marcos Ambrosi demonstrates how to implement the API into applications. A simple image fetcher project is available at https://github.com/CodigoDelSurAndroidDevs/CDSSampleProject/blob/master/AndroidSampleProject.iml
