The TomTom Online Traffic Flow API allows developers to construct web-based and mobile apps that display real-time traffic data on maps. It is powered by the trademarked TomTom Traffic portal and displays real-time data of traffic conditions on selected roads. Users can use different zoom levels to view details such as the current speed and free flow speed of traffic on roads. The RESTful API sends HTTP-formatted requests and returns JSON-, JSONP-, or XML-formatted responses.
