When you go to /api.php or api.urbandictionary.com/ it gives the generic error: api.php isn't defined yet. The WSDL is still up and the soap might or might not work, but it seems that the docs are gone and the api goes unsupported.

I have a IRC script for mIRC and a Google Gadget that uses the UD API. Everything worked perfectly untill yesterday. Seems they had a big outage. Now when I try and use my API Key it returns:

SERVER: Invalid key

Since the link to get a new Key is broken it would seem like they really do not wish to support their API anymore. I can't figure out why they would revoke my key for. While my scripts get alot of usage its not THAT many hits for such a big web site....I wonder if all the testing I been doing this last week while creating a gadget has anything to do with it?

Oh well I been thinking about making my own Slang web application. This will push me to do so.

Thanks,

Tony

I have found through experience that the owner/moderator(Aaron Peckham)allows trolling of his site by those that he uses for free editing. He does not follow up on claims of abuse and only bans those whom he does not consider his &quotfavourites&quot(the people that he uses). He also does not respond to emails when you question his site.

The words being submitted are getting worse and worse. They have become extremely racist/sexist, make no sense or are abusive towards people(both famous and not famous). I gave this site a 1 star rating, but I wish I could have given it a 1/2 star.

1 more thing. On this site it states that all words submitted tp this dictionary become the property of Urban Dictionary. This is FALSE. Anyone who submits a word to this dictionary is entitled to a piece of the profits off the sale of the book. Every country has different rules pertaining to INTELLETUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS but most are similar and effectively 'trump' the American protectionist laws.

If you have ever submitted a word to this site and they were used in the book, you are entitled to royalties.

The API keys required to use Urban dictionary do not work, I receive an \'Invalid Key\' error and there is no reply from support. This is unusable.
