The service provides a capability to discover the file URLS for video displayed by a specified web page. Documentation specifies a list of dozens of video hosting platforms from which it can capture video, including YouTube and Der Spiegel in Germany. Access to file URLs allows for direct access to the media files rather than through the hosting site's player interface.
API methods allow submission of a video URL on a selection of video hosting sites. Returned data provide basic metadata such as the title and thumbnail image URL along with file URLs for different video quality options (from 1080-pixel HD to 240 pixel) and formats (MP4 and FLV) available.
