Re: Metadata and others
I found a couple of posts that may be of help
http://batchgeocode.blogspot.com/2006/0 … tiple.html
with note that
"I have found that using the Yahoo one is technically easier mostly due to the fact the Y one has a precision element that tells without a doubt if the point being returned is in fact the same as the address requested. The Yahoo one is based on NavTeq while the Google one is based on Tele Atlas. The resulting accuracy depends a lot on the maps in question. "
Also a note on number of transactions
http://groups.google.com/group/Google-M … 6d650cd94e
"Another issue is the number of "hits" allowed. Yahoo allows 5000 a day per IP. Google allows 50,000 per day per key. That is a huge difference. Just think how long it would take to geocode 100,000
addresses with the Yahoo one compared to the Google geocoder. If you had a million addresses, it would be impossible with Yahoo.
