Blippy and Swipely both launched fairly recently with the hopes of making spending a social experience. Both services are very similar in that they both allow you to connect your bank and credit card info, as well as other accounts like iTunes and Amazon. After you've set everything up, as you start spending, you have the option to share these purchases with everyone. And now you can extend that sharing with the Blippy API.
The Indix API released today makes product information available in machine-readable format from the "world's most comprehensive product intelligence platform", Indix. ProgrammableWeb spoke with Shalendra Chhabra, Director of Marketing, on the eve of the API release.
With iZettle's new iOS API it is possible to include credit card payments in any IOS app. iZettle is a Swedish company known in locally as “Spotify for payments” and in the US as “the European Square”. Using their chip card reader and iOS app, small businesses and individuals can charge via VISA, Mastercard, American Express or Diners Club and the payment is finalized with the card holders signature written with the finger straight on the iOS screen. So far the payment service is available in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and is being tested in the UK. They just got a €25 million to roll out in more countries world wide.
