The National Institue of Standards and Technology (NIST), has created created AppVet. AppVet is an open-source tool that IT groups can use to test applications for use on government networks. AppVet was designed to easily integrate with third party apps and tools (e.g. antivirus software, analyzers, vulnerability repositories, etc.) through simple APIs.
Path, the mobile-only social networking app that lets you share “moments” along the path of your life with a close circle of family and friends, announced it is adding 13 new API content partners, which will allow its users to share even more.
With Twitter reducing its search history to four days, it is a challenge for applications that are dependent on search results, that went not days but even months back. Several applications have taken on the challenge to fill this void and are building search indexes on top of Twitter. Topsy is one of them and it's sharing its results as an API.
