The example offered on its site explains the obvious relation to some between organic food groceries, vitamin stores, and vegetarian restaurants. The LocationGenome API aims to help your application take advantage of this type of cross category theme.
Two days ago we wrote about Urban Airship grounding SimpleGeo APIs. While one API was being taken over by another company, it left SimpleGeo's innovative flagship geo storage product stranded. Another company has quickly come forward to pick up the slack. Geoloqi created a SimpleGeo importer that will move storage from one platform to the other, where places can then be queried by the Geoloqi API.
When Google first launched its location-sharing service, Latitude, developers were left wondering how to access their users' data. Now, over a year later, we finally have a Latitude API. But we also have a number of other similar services that have better traction and are arguably more fully featured.
