Moxie Software has released Engage+,"the first social chat app that leverages Facebook’s social graph leveraging public profiles to target social visitors with unique proactive offers and provide agents with a rich set of social data." Until now, sales and customer service reps had access to limited customer data when interacting with customers via chat (e.g. customer name, purchase history, email, perhaps a few other data points). Engage+ utilizes Facebook's social graph to further understand and engage customers during chat conversations (e.g. age, brand likes, friends, mobile usage, and many more data points). Deeper profiling during a customer interaction allows companies to produce customized offers pinpointed at specific customers.
Maestro.Fm wants to take your music experience to cloud nine, maybe even ten. Actually that could be a little overstated, but at least they are going to use cloud computing to do it. With a functionality similar to Google Music, a little application runs on your PC and uploads all your music to Maestro. Once it’s there, it’s augumented with album art, lyrics, and other lovely decorations. It’s kind of like a music library makeover. Google already has a thick collection of API services. Will they be interested in opening Google Music up for developer access? Don't wait around and wonder, the Maestfo.fm API is already here.
At the beginning of 2011 we reported that Collect had decided to drop it's API in order to change their offering to something more profitable. But now ReadWriteWeb have reported the disappointing demise of Collecta. This has the potential of being the first big failure of a well funded real-time web focused company, so questions need to be asked about why this happened and why Collecta weren't successful. Back in January of this year we asked "Is It Finally the End for Real-time Search Engines?" and it now looks like that very question is being raised again.
