Google has announced the release of Google App Engine version 1.8.1. which includes bug fixes and several significant changes. Google App Engine allows applications to be maintained, managed and run using Google infrastructure.
As much as mobile backend-as-a-service (BaaS) platforms free up developers from having to worry about the infrastructure that support their applications, they do generally come with a downside; most of them lock the developer into a particular cloud platform.
