Mashup: Theorie M

deprecated
Theorie M
Theorie M is an artistic project mixing Internet, mobile phone, movie, cartography and urban spaces. 2D codes, tagged in the town of Paris, are linked to a movie visible on a mobile phone. A Google Map localized the tags painted on the Paris sidewalks.

This art project is very simple and unique. It uses urban art with ubiquitous technology. The 2d readers are in use for advertisements in Tokyo, Japan. I'd love to see more projects using this technology. It seems like all the tools are in place for people to use this if they want to. It makes me think that some web 2.0 startup will come up with a flash mob business model one day that will use pop technology properly that will make this silly stuff (2d barcodes) commonplace in society.
