This week we had 13 new APIs added to our API directory including a bible access and search service, spam detection service, cloud printing service, Chinese social networking site, email marketing campaign tracker, criminal records search service and realtime stock tweets service. Below is more detail on each of these new APIs.
American Bible Society BibleSearch API: American Bible Society is a nonprofit organization which publishes, distributes and translates the Bible and provides study aids and other tools to help people engage with the Bible.
The BibleSearch API allows any developer to include Scripture content and text anywhere in their website or application for non-commercial purposes. It provides access to multiple Bible versions, search across them by keyword or passage, and return Scripture in a number of formats. The API uses RESTful calls and responses are formatted in XML and JSON.
Barcelona Bicing API: This application has the task to extract information of a website which doesn't offer easy extraction data methods, and offer its data in a easy to read method for third party applications. For example, it reads the data of the Bicing stations (a sharing byke service at Barcelona) from its Google Maps powered website, and offer its data in XML, JSON, Serialized Java... The project was born with the task of extract the data from Bicing, but it has grown to do the same for other cities.
Block Disposable Email API: Block Disposable Email is a web site that helps companies and individuals reduce the number of anonymous subscribers in order to prevent userbase contamination by one-time accounts. The webservice helps to detect subscribers using disposable email addresses. It can replace local maintained blacklists. Prevents userbase contamination by fake accounts. block-disposable-email.com provides a JSON based API for validating emails. It uses RESTful calls and requires an API key.
Google Cloud Print API: Google Cloud Print is a service that enables any app (web, desktop, or mobile) on any device to print to any printer anywhere in the world. The APIs allow the apps to collect the necessary data to show their own user interface for custom print options or use the common print dialog that Google Cloud Print provides. There are also APIs for querying print job status. The API uses XMPP protocol and responses are formatted in XML, JSON and TXT. Google Cloud Print is not currently available.
Majestic SEO Enterprise API: Majestic SEO provides competitor backlinks intelligence to SEO specialists. For Enterprise users, an API service is offered for internal use which enables developers to integrate data into new or existing suites of reports and applications. The Enterprise API allows developers to access the backlinks index directly. Some of the data that can be accessed through the API includes: The date a link was first found, the date a link was last crawled, the anchor text if present, whether the link redirects and much more. The API uses RESTful calls and responses are formatted in XML. Full documentation is not publicly available.
Manyou API: The Manyou API lets users call the specified MYOP UCenter Home Users Web site data, including authentication, user data, friend relationships, application usage and more. This data can be used by developers to integrate their applications with the UCenter Home Users Web site and communicate with the application server to achieve a series of user-based, behavior and function of complex interpersonal relationships. The API uses RESTful calls and responses are formatted in XML, JSON and PHP. The site and documentation are in Chinese.
Murrion Software Track Email Opens API: Murrion Software specializes in developing smart web applications using PHP/Codeigniter & mySQL. The 'track_opens' API will generate a unique image to place in your email marketing campaign to track user opens. Both unique and total user opens can be tracked. The API uses RESTful calls and responses are formatted in JSON.
RealSearch Liberty Criminal API: RealSearch is the nation's largest online portal for Investigative data with information from over 40 databases. The Liberty Criminal API pulls data from over 20 years of live public record Criminal Records searchable "CrimData" into a developer's application. The XML API lets users search by Full Name & State or Nationwide by Full Name, Middle, Last and exact DOB. All records are public so no special permissions are required. Mugshots will be added soon. RealSearch TIN Reverse API: RealSearch is the nation's largest online portal for Investigative data with information from over 40 databases. TIN Reverse offers instant access to almost 300 million Tax IDs including EINs ( Employer Identification Numbers ) and Individual Tax Ids ( SSN ). Users pass a 9 digit number and last name, and the API will return verification information. Full documentation is not currently available.
RealSearch Wireless & Cellphone API: RealSearch is the nation's largest online portal for Investigative data with information from over 40 databases. The API gives users access to the largest private wireless database. It supports reverse cellphone calls as well forward calls with Name and Address. Either receive missing name and address using cell number or locate cell phone by name or address. Full documentation is not currently available.
Stocklytics Stock Tweets API: Stocklytics provides stock market data of all sorts, from ticker symbol quotes with charts, to news and even Twitter results about the particular stock. The three major US markets are supported: NASDAQ, AMEX and NYSE.
The Stock Tweets API allows users to get relevant real-time Tweets and Twitter discussion around a specific stock. Stocklytics uses sentiment analysis to decipher if the discussion is positive or negative. The API is in private beta.
Yonda4 API: Yonda4 is a social site where users can post the books that they are reading and make recommendations. The API lets developers get reading records across the entire site and book records from a particular user given their twitter username. The API uses RESTful calls and responses are formatted in JSON and RSS. The site and documentation are in Japanese.
