35 New APIs: Facebook Chat, Coupons and Tournament Brackets

This week we had 35 new APIs added to our API directory including online accounting software, an online collaborative outlining service, web based drag-and-drop sharing platform, DNS hosting service, trust network based search tool and a self-service advertising platform. Below is more detail on each of these new APIs.

3NGNetworks3NGNetworks API: The 3NGNetworks API allows developers to intergate their existng applications with the 3NG VoIP Platform. 3NG is a provider of private label VoIP solutions. The API exposes the entire VoIP platform functionality. It uses SOAP protocol and responses are formatted in XML. Full API documentation is not publicly available.

4PSA DNS Manager4PSA DNS Manager API: This API allows third party products to interact with the 4PSA DNS Manager system. The DNS Manager is a multitenant software automation tool designed to deliver DNS hosting to service providers and businesses. The web service allows the execution of basic management operations on client accounts or dns zones belonging to a 4PSA DNS Manager system. The API uses SOAP protocol and responses are formatted in XML.

4PSA VoipNow4PSA VoipNow API: 4PSA VoipNow Core is delivered with an API that enables the integration with third-party applications. 4PSA VoipNow Core is an Integrated Communications System for service providers and enterprises. It integrates voice and data into a single network infrastructure with an open standards software. The API allows the execution of basic management operations on all supported types of user accounts: resellers, clients, endpoints; charging plans and channels and call routing rules. The API uses SOAP protocol and responses are formatted in XML.

Adobe FeedsAdobe Feeds API: The Adobe Feeds API allows developers to interact with Adobe Feeds and extract data from the aggregator. The new API gives developers access to categories, smart categories and post data (optionally retrievable by category, smart category, or feed). You can also search for posts matching a specified search term.

The API uses SOAP protocol and responses are in XML.

BuyDeals.in Local DealBuyDeals.in Local Deal API: BuyDeals.in has an API allowing for various methods that pulls local deals from the BuyDeals database. BuyDeals.in aggregate the deals from all the top local deal sites such as Groupon, LivingSocial, Tippr, TownHog, HomeRun and Dealster. The API uses RESTful protocol and responses are formatted in either XML, JSON or PHP.

ChallongeChallonge API: Challonge is a service to create tournament brackets. Users can make single elimination, double elimination and round-robin brackets, in addition to the FIDE-based Swiss system. The Challonge API expands tournament creation and control to the programmatic level. You can create tournaments on the fly and report scores directly from your application. This allows you to define score reporting permissions that fit your user model, and provide a more seamless tournament experience for your users.

CheckvistCheckvist API: The Checkvist Open API is a RESTful API that returns data in either JSON or XML format. The Open API can be used to create, edit, and view Checklists and Tasks Authentication is required only for non-public lists and tasks.

CinemaTorrentsCinemaTorrents API: CinemaTorrents indexes movie torrents from the top 30 torrent sites on the web. The CinemaTorrents API provides open access to its database of torrents. When using the API, you need not attribute CinemaTorrents in your application in any way. The API is completely free to use. CinemaTorrents claims it "is not a torrent site or tracker, and does not host or provide any files or torrents in any way, shape or form."

CompletelyPrivateFilesCompletelyPrivateFiles API: With this JavaScript API users can read and write cookies that are secured with 256-bit AES encryption. Encryption happens client-side using a client secret such as a password, supplemental passphrase, or application generated value. Completelyprivatefiles provides industry-strength encryption services allowing users to store data in the cloud.

Conferma CSP On-DemandConferma CSP On-Demand API: Conferma is the UK travel industry's leading provider of booking, reconciliation and settlement software. Conferma specialises in providing tools to financial partners to enable the automation of previously manual processes in the travel and expenses sector.

CSP On-Demand is Conferma's XML-based interface that enables customers to securely access the full suite of Conferma's settlement tools for integration to their enterprise or agency applications. With CSP On-Demand any travel management booking system can take advantage of the Conferma process of introducing a onetime only card through the whole lifecycle of procure to pay.

The Conferma CSP On-Demand API acts as a plug-in to enhance established enterprise systems for simplified ordering, settlement and reconciliation. The interface supports any programming language and is based on open-standards, thus remaining vendor neutral and flexible. CozimoCozimo API: Cozimo provides tools and services that let users edit and collaborate on videos and images in real-time. Cozimo also provides and API that lets users manipulate their own Cozimo workgroups, folders and files.

CubeTreeCubeTree API: CubeTree is a website that provides a social business platform for revolutionizing business performance. The CubeTree API is a RESTful API that allows developers to create applications that can query and manipulate the resources provided by CubeTree.

Deal MagicDeal Magic API: Deal Magic is a website that compiles a list of deals for certian cities. Users can buy deals and get coupons to popular places around the city. The Deal Magic API is a RESTful API that returns an XML or RSS list of deals for a certain city.

Deepwater Oil ReporterDeepwater Oil Reporter API: Deepwater Oil Reporter is a crowdsourcing application that lets users report on oil conditions in the Gulf. Deepwater Oil Reporter also provides an API for developers to integrate Deepwater Oil Reporter data and tools into their own apps.

Developer CentreDeveloper Centre API: Through using the Web Service, applications can communicate with the SMS Gateway, using the SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) specification. The Web Service has been designed to provide a rich set of functionality to send and receive messages from both applications and web environments.

Facebook ChatFacebook Chat API: This API allows users to integrate Facebook Chat into their Web-based, desktop, or mobile instant messaging products. The user's instant messaging client connects to Facebook Chat via the Jabber/XMPP service. Responses are formatted as XML or vCard.

Facebook Social PluginsFacebook Social Plugins API: Facebook Social Plugins make a user's friend's social activity available via API. You can see what your friends have liked, commented on or shared on sites across the web. Social Plugins are a basic method of accessing data on Facebook and are specifically designed so none of your data is shared with the sites on which they appear.

All plugins use the Facebook JavaScript SDK.

FilmasterFilmaster API: Filmaster is a social network for movie fans, with personalized content and recomendations. Filmaster allows users to run their own film blog using a domain like you.filmaster.com, rate movies and talk about movies with others in the community. Personalized recommendations are a bonus. The API provides functionality such as retrieving reviews, blog posts and followers. The API uses RESTful protocol and responses are formatted in JSON.

FindMeSpecialsFindMeSpecials API: The FindMeSpecials APIs let users get verified specials and events by geolocation. It currently lists over 250,000 food, drink and leisure specials in the US. With the API users can retrieve a list of businesses for a particular location, search specials and events for a specific date and location and more. The API uses RESTful protocol and responses are formatted in XML.

GreendizerGreendizer API: Greendizer is focused on getting rid of paper invoices and it platform lets you do that and more. Create, send and archive invoices, track budgets and correspond with clients right in the product. The Greendizer API provides developers with access to the data and functionality of Greendizer. You can incorporate invoice sending into your workflow and integrate with your billing and CRM systems.

The Greendizer API documentation is available upon request during its beta testing phase.

High Gear MediaHigh Gear Media API: The High Gear Media API is for any developer that want to build Car/Automotive apps. High Gear Media is a vertical publishing company that publishes premium automotive content through websites targeting key buyer and vehicle segments. The API lets users load feeds from the many automotive sites on High Gear Media. The API uses RESTful protocol and responses are formatted in XML and JSON.

IntervalsIntervals API: Intervals is a time tracking and task management service. The Intervals API allows users to perform actions on various resources available within Intervals in a RESTful manner. Developers can add, edit and update tasks, as well as time-tracking. Most API requests return either XML or JSON formatted data.

KashooKashoo API: The Kashoo API allows developers to interact with data stored in Clarity Accounting from their own software. Kashoo is online accounting software for small businesses. The API provides functionality such as getting a list of the user's businesses, get lists of invoices for the business, add new records and more. The API uses SOAP protocol and responses are formatted in XML or HTML.

L9L9 API: L9 is a URL shortening service. Users can use it to shorten long URLs to a more manageable format. Developers can gain access to the L9 API for programmatic access to L9's tools. There are two APIs, a JSON API and a REST API; both are used to shorten URLs, but they return different types of data. The JSON API returns an array with many different values including error messages while the REST API only returns the URL or an error.

LijitLijit API: The Ligit API allows users to embed Lijit Search Results in their web pages. Lijit's site search and content discovery tools collect and report on reader intent, behavior, demographics, and other actionable insights. The data is used to build custom integrated advertising campaigns that leverage social media and authentic content to encourage interaction, increase brand awareness and deliver intent to purchase. The API uses RESTful protocol and responses are formatted in XML.

LinksPreadeRLinksPreadeR API: LinksPreadR is a URL-shortening service. Developers can use the LinksPreadR API to gain programmatic access to the LinksPreadR website. The LinksPreadR API is a RESTful API that returns data in a JSON format. There are two methods, shorten URL and expand URL.

ListingWareListingWare API: ListingWare is a real estate listing website. The ListingWare API offers tools for developers to integrate ListingWare real estate listings into their own websites. You can use the service's IDX search feature to provide current listings or allow users to search public listings data.

MagentoMagento API: Magento is a feature-rich, professional open-source eCommerce solution that offers merchants complete flexibility and control over the look, content, and functionality of its online store. The Magento Core API gives users access to functionality such as export/import of customer/customer addresses, retrieve countries and regions and more. The API supports both SOAP and XML RPC protocols. The API is permission based and allows access to the Customer, Catalog and Order modules of Magento.

MemberClicksMemberClicks API: MemberClicks offers an open API that enables developers to plug-in to the MemberClicks systems via their own custom interface. MemberClicks provides Membership Management Software and Membership Websites to membership organizations throughout the world. MemberClicks works with more than 1,400 organizations throughout North America and the U.K.

MinusMinus API: The Minus API allows users to create galleries and upload images programmatically. Minus is a drag-and-drop sharing platform. Users can drag their pictures, documents, music, videos and other files onto the homepage, and start sharing. There are currently 4 APIs published with more to come in the near future. The API is open and no registration is required. It uses RESTful protocol and responses are formatted in JSON.

MSHD.netMSHD.net API: This JavaScript API is a side project of Martin Schibel. The API can be used to look up the following IP address information, currency, postal codes, lyrics and other reference type of information. A full list is available on the site. Responses can be formatted in XML, JSON or TXT.

MyAdsMyAds API: The MyAds API allows users to develop applications that create and manage their MyAds advertising campaigns. Through the API users can gain access to campaigns, accounts, performance and more.MyAds is a self service ad platform that lets users build and customize ads to reach new customers. The API uses SOAP protocol and responses are formatted in XML.

Omnifone MusicStationOmnifone MusicStation API: Omnifone offers a full suite of APIs for their MusicStation program. The MusicStation Next Generation program allows partners, including leading device manufacturers, to provide an unlimited music solution on a range of connected devices, from home entertainment systems to set-top boxes and in-car audio systems, using dedicated service APIs and bespoke client development services and capabilities.

Omnifone is an independent provider of unlimited music services. The company's open music solution, MusicStation, is the world's leading multi-platform interoperable end-to-end unlimited music solution and is used by leading device vendors, mobile network operators and broadband providers.

Reverse AustraliaReverse Australia API: The Reverse Australia API gives users limited access to the company database. Reverse Australia is a free Australian reverse phone lookup service. The API can be used to lookup caller IDs, determine if a caller is spam and find the location of a caller. The API uses RESTful protocol and responses can be formatted in either XML, JSON or TXT.

VMIX Media PlatformVMIX Media Platform API: VMIX provides a suite of RESTful APIs for interfacing with clients' video libraries. VMIX is the leading provider of video content management solutions. Their cloud-based Platform as a Service is designed with high-volume video producers in mind, powering top online publishers in media, entertainment and enterprise. The APIs contain functions that allow users to create and modify media collections, encrypt content, retrieve media and much more. Responses can be formatted in either XML or JSON.
