50 New APIs: NFLData.com, PayOnDelivery and Pheed

This week we had 50 new APIs added to our API directory including a mobile application advertising and monetization service, a webrtc video and audio services, a shipment tracking and notification service, an indoor mapping and commerce platform, a mobile application backend service, an unofficial transformice leaderboard and an online store for custom device covers. We also covered an API that changes the way payment processing works. Below are more details on each of these new APIs.

AarkiAarki API: Aarki is a mobile application and game advertising and monetization platform for publishers, advertisers, and developers.

The Aarki API allows developers to access and integrate the reporting functionality of Aarki with other applications to feed in reporting and data metrics about advertising and monetization. AddLiveAddLive API: AddLive is a service designed to supplement and extend WebRTC, an emerging open standard for placing high quality video and voice technology directly into web browsers. AddLive provides support for non-WebRTC browsers, native applications, multi-party conferencing, screen sharing, and more. The JavaScript API provided by AddLive enables users to include live video and audio features in their applications.

AfterShipAfterShip API: AfterShip is a package and shipping tracking and notification service. AfterShip allows users to track packages and shipments and notify their customers when shipped, out for delivery, delivered or exceptions.

The AfterShip API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality of AfterShip with other applications. Some example API methods include setting up tracking, accessing courier services information, and pushing tracking notifications.

aisle411aisle411 API: aisle411 is a platform that provides indoor maps of stores, locations of products in stores, and commerce solutions. aisle411 also offers other features, such as coupon applications and checkout services.

AppacitiveAppacitive API: Appacitive is a backend as a service (BAAS) provider for mobile applications. Appacitive offers a variety of features for mobile applications, including social media integration, geolocation, and user management.

The Appacitive API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality and features of Appacitive with other applications and to create new applications. Some example API methods include managing user accounts, creating content, and retrieving content.

CheeseformiceCheeseformice API: Cheeseformice is the unofficial leaderboard for the multiplayer flash game Transformice. The Cheeseformice API provides developer access to rankings and stats for individual players and user groups called tribes, as well as map information. Data is returned in JSON format.

Design SkinsDesign Skins API: Design Skins is a website that sells customizable covers and decals for consumer electronics such as laptops, iPads, mp3 players, game consoles, digital cameras, and coffee machines. Customers can choose from the patterns provided by Design Skins or they can upload and use their own. The SOAP-based Design Skins API enables users to retrieve product information, product categories, and articles from the website.

DocverterDocverter API: Docverter allows users to convert plain text documents written in HTML, Markdown, or LaTeX to PDF, Docx, RTF, or ePub with an API.

The Docverter API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality of Docverter with other applications and to create new applications to convert documents. Some example API methods include uploading documents, reading documents, and returning documents in other formats and templates.

eduroam URNeduroam URN API: The service provides a registry of permanently valid resource identifiers for entities within the GÉANT infrastructure that serves European educational institutions and affiliated people. For each registered resource, a Uniform Resource Name (URN) is logged in a format resembling an http:// web address. Each URN is associated with an http:// URL where that resource is currently accessed. If the resource must move to a new URL, the registry listing may be updated, allowing the persistent identifier to redirect to an updated location and access the resource.

API methods support submission of a request containing a URN with special characters in escaped format. The API returns the current URL associated with that identifier. Methods also support listing all currently registered URNs and their associated URLs.

ErrorceptionErrorception API: Errorception is a service that finds and tracks errors in JavaScript. Adding Errorception to a website does not require the user to rewrite their code or in any way compromise website performance. Errorception automatically marks duplicate errors and filters errors that the user does not care about. Detailed graphs are available documenting each error's occurrence. Errorception users can choose to receive daily email alerts regarding top errors and to receive notification if an error stops occurring.

Users can access Errorception's functions programmatically using its RESTful API. This is an early version of the API, but it is still fully functional. The API only accepts JSON-formatted queries.

FlashGameDistributionFlashGameDistribution API: FlashGameDistribution is an international flash game distributor, connecting game developers and flash gaming site owners. The FlashGameDistribution API provides a RESTful interface for sites to automate customized game-broadcasts from the FlashGameDistribution server.

GimmieGimmie API: Gimmie is a brand and product loyalty platform. Gimmie allows businesses to engage and reward their customers for using their services and products and accessing their content.

The Gimmie API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality of Gimmie with other applications. Public documentation is not available; interested developers should email contact@gimmieworld.com for more information.

GoPollGoGoPollGo API: GoPollGo is an online and mobile tool for surveys, polls, and gathering opinions and answers from people. GoPollGo can be used with Facebook, Twitter, email, and by embedding links. GoPollGo offers reporting features and answer analysis.

The GoPollGo API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality of GoPollGo with other applications. Some example API methods include retrieving poll data, posting raw data, and returning embedding links.

GracenoteGracenote API: Gracenote is a music and video metadata company. Gracenote provides metadata for music and videos for players in cars, mobile, web, and other player devices. Metadata includes cover art, photos, recommendations, genres, and offers voice recognition services.

The Gracenote API allows developers to access and integrate the data and functionality of Gracenote with other applications and to create new applications. Some example API methods include searching music, retrieving associated data and metadata, and retrieving tracks.

IKANOWIKANOW API: IKANOW is big data platform that allows for data analysis for a variety of industries. IKANOW is an open-source data analytics platform.

The IKANOW API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality of IKANOW with other applications. Some example API methods include retrieving data, managing user accounts, and posting data.

InfoPark Web CalendarInfoPark Web Calendar API: The service from German web hosting provider InfoPark provides ability to update the hosted event calendar listings it offers with its service package. Site owners using the platform can maintain calendars of events, appointments, and other time-sensitive listings as separate elements or embedded within other parts of their online environments.

API methods support creating and updating event calendar listings and retrieval of listing data for display or other processing. Methods allow synchronization of listings with other systems so events configured there create listings within the online event calendar.

InfradoxInfradox API: Infradox is a high volume photo and video archive service that provides secure storage and delivery to end users. Infradox offers a Partner API and a Backoffice API. The Partner API allows user parters to set up a live connection with stored media the user's files. The Backoffice API allows users to retrieve data from a users own live database. Users can also retrieve data for users, orders, suppliers, galleries, live content, deleted content, and other information.

JiveJive API: Jive provides social networking services for businesses. It can be used within companies to help employees sync up and work together, or it can be used externally to support customer communities that improve service, support, and customer satisfaction.

Jive's REST API provides a comprehensive set of functions for interacting with a Jive community using GET, PUT, POST, and DELETE calls. The JavaScript API enables developers to interact with their Jive instance from within a Jive App.

Lexity Commerce CentralLexity Commerce Central API: Lexity Commerce Central is an online commerce platform. Lexity allows users to bill and accept payments online for goods and services.

The Lexity API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality of Lexity with other applications. Some example API methods include managing account information, retrieving payment information, and managing product and pricing information.

MediaSpikeMediaSpike API: Using MediaSpike, brands can place relevant, targeted ads in any social or mobile game. MediaSpike is a native monetization platform built by a game development team that understands how in-game advertising works. The MediaSpike JavaScript API provides a lightweight interface with MediaSpike's product placement services. For a given application, the API fetches information on active ad units which can then be accessed and displayed.

MetangaMetanga API: Metanga is an online billing and subscription payment service. Metanga offers merchants tools and features to bill for and accept payments for services and goods, either one-time payments or recurring subscription billing.

The Metanga API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality of Metanga with other applications. Metwit Weather and ForecastMetwit Weather and Forecast API: Metwit is a real-time, crowdsourced, social weather application. Users can share information about the weather through tags and applications and users can search for weather by location.

Some example API methods include sending and receiving weather information, retrieving weather information by location, and accessing metatags associated with weather reports.

MobeelizerMobeelizer API: Mobeelizer is a cloud syncing solution for mobile applications. Developers can use Mobeelizer to synchronize data and binary files between mobile devices, mobile and web, and mobile and desktop.

The Mobeelizer API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality of Mobeelizer with other applications and to create new applications. Some example API methods include managing user accounts, retrieving synchronization details, and setting up synchronization.

National Rail EnquiriesNational Rail Enquiries API: The service provides access to and interactions with the Live Departure Boards (LDB) application of the UK National Rail service. It provides the same real-time data tracking train movements that National Rail uses to display its own arrival and departure schedules. Licensing is required for use of the service.

API methods support retrieval of real-time operating data, including current locations and projected arrival and departure times, for trains operating within the UK National Rail system. Methods also allow retrieval of projected arrivals and departures for a specified train station.

NFLData.comNFLData.com API: NFLData.com provides pro football statistical data for personal and professional use. Products include weekly and seasonal data at the player and team level. The NFLData.com API allows developers to automate website or application integration. The API returns JSON or XML formatted data.

ObjectRocketObjectRocket API: ObjectRocket is a cloud infrastructure database-as-a-service (DBAAS), a shared MongoDB provider and environment. ObjectRocket includes database management features, such as back-up services, scaling, and shared environments.

The ObjectRocket API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality of ObjectRocket with other applications and to create new applications. Some example API methods include adding data to databases, retrieving data from databases, and editing and deleting data from databases.

OneIDOneID API: OneID provides a single digital identity that doesn’t require a username or password to access it and claims to be safer than services that do. It provides its users with one-click sign in, quick fill forms, and instant checkout services. OneID is designed to protect user privacy and personal information. It does not share or even track users' online habits.

The OneID JavaScript API includes methods for creating or logging into OneID accounts and for accessing one's own information for uses such as filling in a form. Other API methods add buttons to a web page to perform these operations.

OpenEMI MusicOpenEMI Music API: EMI Music is a music company that manages, represents, and produces music. Music artists from around the world are represented on EMI Music labels.

The EMI Music API (through a partnership with Echo Nest) allows developers to access and integrate music content from EMI Music with other applications and to create new applications. The API is organized into different sandboxes for access to a variety of music content, by music artists, artwork, videos, photos, genres, songs, or a various collection.

OpenMedia.ioOpenMedia.io API: OpenMedia is a entertainment content service that provides movie content, TV show content, and Podcast content via webhooks.

ParkMeParkMe API: ParkMe is a mobile application with parking information by location. Users of ParkMe can search for parking near them, sort by distance, price, and availability for parking in the area.

The ParkMe API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality of ParkMe with other applications. Some example API methods include searching for parking, retrieving parking by price and distance, and retrieving driving directions for parking spots. PayLanePayLane API: PayLane is an online payment platform. PayLane offers online payment services for merchants in a variety of languages and in a variety of currencies and payment methods.

The PayLane API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality of PayLane with other applications. Some example API methods include managing account information, retrieving payment information, and managing payments.

PayOnDeliveryPayOnDelivery API: PayOnDelivery is an online payment platform for buying and selling items on online marketplaces, such as Craigslist. Users do not pay for items until they are delivered.

PheedPheed API: Pheed is a social media sharing platform, available for free or a premium version for a fee. Pheed includes features like content sharing of text, photos, and videos, as well as sharing voice notes, audio clips, and live broadcasting. Users can also monetize their content.

PhotocatPhotocat API: Photocat is an online and mobile application for photo and image editing and retouching. Users can edit photos, resize photos, add photo enhancements, and retouch photos.

The Photocat API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality of Photocat with other applications and websites.
The main API method is retrieving photo information and loading photos to edit.

RequestBinRequestBin API: RequestBin is a service that allows users to collect and analyze HTTP requests. RequestBin can be used to see what HTTP clients are sending and to look at webhook requests.

The RequestBin API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality of RequestBin with other applications and to create new applications. Some example API methods include creating bins, managing bins, and retrieving information from bins.

SemetricSemetric API: Semetric is an entertainment analytics platform. Semetric tracks consumer trends, data, and behavior for entertainment, such as music, movies, games, and TV shows.

The Semetric API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality and data of Semetric with other applications. Some example API methods include searching data, retrieving data, and accessing data charts about entertainment trends. ShareMyPlaylistsShareMyPlaylists API: ShareMyPlaylists is a service for Spotify users to create, share, and search music playlists. Users can submit their playlists for other users to discover and follow.

SharkScopeSharkScope API: The service provides data about players in poker tournaments to track their gambling success and winnings over time. It tracks results for "virtually all" poker tournaments in aggregate and broken down for individual participants with reports of winnings as well as comparison of costs incurred to derive measures of profit and return on investment. The information allows evaluation of opposing players or overall ranking in relation to one another.

API methods support retrieval of statistics for both completed and active poker tournaments, including lists of players and the position of each on the leaderboard. Methods also support analysis by individual player or for groups of players to assess past tournament participation and success.

Signature.ioSignature.io API: Signature is an online, digital signing platform. Signature's API allows for digitally signing documents and PDFs and storing the signed documents. Some example API methods include creating documents for signatures, posting documents, and managing signature accounts.

SITA Airport FIDSSITA Airport FIDS API: SITA is a specialist in air transport communications and information technology. SITA's Flight Information Display API is currently very limited in scope and not ready for general use. Public documentation is not available; interested developers should sign up for access to the API and notifications when API key requests applications are being received.

SoundropSoundrop API: Soundrop is social music platform. Soundrop allows users to use the application to share their music experience with other users through Soundrop rooms, sharing Spotify playlists, and seeing what other users are listening to on Spotify.

SwippSwipp API: Swipp is a social sharing platform. Swipp seeks to integrate knowledge sharing with social sharing in one platform. Users can share what interests them and see what others around them and in the world think.

T3MediaT3Media API: The service provides hosting of video content and access via search and browse functions. A robust permissions model allows access only to selected elements within the repository. The proprietary metadata management tool provides automated extraction of technical details about format, codec, aspect ratio, etc., as well as human cataloging to describe video for later retrieval.

API methods support ingest of video resources with definition of access permissions and technical and descriptive metadata. Methods also support for categories and types of videos as well as individual titles. Methods also support content preview and full-length viewing, where permissions allow.

ThriftDBThriftDB API: ThriftDB is a document-oriented data storage service that is built on top of the Thrift serialization protocol. ThriftDB is designed to be flexible, highly scalable, and extremely fast. Its flexible schema allows users to add, delete, and modify attributes freely without the need for downtime. Users can also perform full-text searches or faceted queries across items. ThriftDB is offered as a hosted service, which is accessible through RESTful calls communicated in JSON.

TripCheckTripCheck API: TripCheck is a service provided by the Oregon Department of Transportation and provides users with access to weather, trip planning assistance, and traffic information. The TripCheck API makes parking data from the Portland International Airport available, as well as traffic incident data, road weather reports, automated roadside weather station data, roadway sensor data, dynamic message sign data, highway weight restrictions, links to roadside camera images. Data is available in XML. An account is required with service.

ViewView API: View is a service that provides community websites for various cities and towns in the UK, such as London, Manchester, and Cambridge. The View websites for each city and town offer event listings, news, recommendations, and other localized entertainment content.

The View API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality and data of View websites with other applications. Some example API methods include searching for events by location, retrieving venues and events, and retrieving details about events and venues.

Vizrt Escenic Content EngineVizrt Escenic Content Engine API: The Escenic Content Engine (part of the Vizrt Online Suite) provides a high performance content management and delivery system for text, images, audio files, video clips, and other digital assets used on modern websites. It also provides a set of tools for building websites and a powerful front-end user interface. Everything stored within the Escenic Content Engine is accessible through Java Server Pages tag libraries and through JavaScript and REST APIs.

WalletKitWalletKit API: WalletKit is a service to create passes, tickets, coupons, and more for mobile wallets, such as PassBook. Developers can create passes and tickets for Apple's PassBook and other mobile wallets.

The WalletKit API allows developers to integrate the functionality of WalletKit with other applications and to create new applications. Some example API methods include creating and managing passes, retrieving pass templates, and posting passes.

WootWoot API: Woot is a daily deals site, offering curated collections of themed deals called Woot Plus Events, and a daily deal called Today’s Woot. The Woot API provides developers with automated access to daily deals, events, videos, and more. Results are JSON formatted.

ZooBankZooBank API: ZooBank is the world’s official registry of Zoological Nomenclature, as recognized by the International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature. Zoobank accommodates the registration of four types of data objects: Published usages of scientific names for animals, publications that contain such usages, authors of such publications, and type specimens for scientific names of animals.
The ZooBank API exposes a variety of resources including search and retrieval of the aforementioned data types. Requests and responses may be JSON or HTML formatted.
