75 New APIs: Adobe, Amazon, SendGrid and Yahoo

This week we had 75 new APIs added to our API directory including an online payment service, ad validation and optimization service, customer management service, eCommerce platform and advertising platform. Below are more details on each of these new APIs.

360Text360Text API: The service allows management of SMS text message communications for bulk messaging and communication with customers, subscribers, and other recipients. It allows specification of message text, recipient list, and delivery schedule. The service can also generate text messages triggered by email.

API methods support specification of recipients, either individuals or lists for bulk delivery, and message text. Methods also allow scheduling of future messaging and handling of incoming messaging.

Adobe Project AdthenticateAdobe Project Adthenticate API: Adobe Project Adthenticate is a hosted service for ad validation and optimization that enables publishers and agencies to test and certify ads against a repository of specifications. Adthenticate offers agencies features such as dynamic validation, standardized CPU usage measurement, detection of requests for tracking pixels, animation beyond specified durations and setting of rich media rules.

The API allows developers to integrate the service into publisher-side order entry and ad serving systems. The API is currently in public beta and interested developers should contact the Adthenticate team for more information.

Amazon Product AdvertisingAmazon Product Advertising API: The Product Advertising API gives users access to Amazon's databases and exposes much of the functionality of the site. The data includes items for sale, item descriptions and images, customer reviews and seller reviews. Functionality includes finding items, finding similar items, displaying customer reviews, and product promotions. With this API, users can build thier own web store to sell either Amazon items or their own items. The API uses RESTful and SOAP calls and responses are formatted in XML.

AnedotAnedot API: The service helps not-for-profit organizations to manage fund-raising campaigns and donations, including ongoing relationships with donors and other sources of funding. It provides coordinated interactions via websites, social media outlets, and mobile devices to simplify accepting money whenever and however it is offered.

The API supports queries against information about the not-for-profit's account, fund-raising campaigns, and donations received. Methods support tracking of communications with and contributions from donors over time. Methods also support interaction with the organization's bank account to aid processing of payments.

BigStockBigStock API: The Bigstock API allows users to tap into 11 million photos housed by BIgstock.com. Users can then offer print on demand services to customers, integrate images into facebook applications, or use it for website construction. Images are available in a variety of sizes and are priced accordingly. The API is available in REST and JavaScript and returns data in JSON.

BikesyBikesy API: Bikesy is an open bike mapping system used for finding biking routes in the San Francisco Bay Area. The service focuses on providing users with the safest bike routes with the least change in elevation. The API lets developers access bike route data for use in their own websites and applications. The API accepts a number of inputs such as starting and ending points, reluctance to ride hills and safety. It uses RESTful calls and responses are formatted in XML and JSON.

BitInstantBitInstant API: BitInstant is a rapid bitcoin transferring service. Users can use the BitInstant system for numerous financial transactions such as transfers, deposits, and withdrawals. BitInstant’s rate of transaction operates almost instantaneously, depending on the bitcoin market’s current pace. They model their transactional system to dynamically reflect the real time market conditions. Their RESTful API exposes data retrieval and transactional functionality, and returns JSON-encoded data.

BitStampBitStamp API: BitStamp is an online exchange for bitcoins. Online consumers and traders can use it as a global marketplace to buy and sell BitCoins. Users make cash deposits to buy bitcoins from other users. They may then use those to make purchases or trade them back for cash eventually. BitStamp also provides a fee schedule and market information about bitcoins. Their RESTful API exposes transactional functions and access to bitcoin market ticker information. It returns JSON-encoded data.

Bluefin Technology PartnersBluefin Technology Partners API: Bluefin is a publisher’s community marketplace offering the ability for self service advertising for print and the Web. Bluefine gives advertisers tools to place, review and publish their print and online media buys. The Bluefin API allows newspapers to control the branding of their online products and integrate registration systems. Interested developers should contact the provider for more information.

BoxBilling BoxBilling API: BoxBilling is a payment management system for services and products like software licenses, web hosting, and downloadable products. It allows merchants to manage clients and their payment schedules. Merchants can monitor and automate invoicing from an administrators dashboard and set up multiple payment gateways. BoxBilling offers APIs for Guest-based services, Clients, and Admins. They are all RESTful APIs that return JSON-formatted data.

CallME Click-to-CallCallME Click-to-Call API: CallME! Click-to-Call is web-based calling service. Users create accounts linked to their phone numbers and can manage incoming and outgoing telephony functions. Click-to-Call can be used as a long distance calling service, or can regulate operational hours for phone calls made from a user’s website. They provide a RESTful API that exposes the Click-to-Call’s essentially telephony functions as well as data retrieval.

CoveritLiveCoveritLive API: CoveritLive is a live-blogging platform. It allows journalists and bloggers to cover events in real time. CoveritLive also provides Social TV and Chat Events solutions. These options offer entire interactive experience on CoveritLive’s platform itself. Broadcasters and reporting services can host second screens of commentary, or their entire event on the platform. CoveritLive’s API exposes data retrieval, plus event and comment posting functionality. It is a RESTful API and returns JSON-formatted data.

DigibugDigibug API: Digibug is a service for photographers. Digibug helps photographers set up websites for their work and helps manage photo buying and selling.

The Digibug API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality of Digibug with other applications. Some example API methods include managing photo and print options, managing photo and print prices, and managing account information.

DiscoveryGateDiscoveryGate API: The service provides information about types and availability of chemical compounds and chemistry products. It aggregates source information by compound and provider to facilitate comparison and purchasing decisions. Products are flagged by molecular structure to make them easy to find, along with listings of potential suppliers.

API methods support specification of molecule "flags" or descriptors to identify progressively finer selections of available chemical compounds. Methods return potential matches with procurement information like supplier, location, and price.

EasywalletEasywallet API: EasyWallet is a bitcoin storage system. Users create virtual wallets to save their bitcoins. The virtual wallet is accessible at a secret URL, and protected by a username and password combination. The wallets only exist temporarily: if they are not retrieved or visited at their URL within a month of its creation, the funds will return to the original user. The EasyWallet API is RESTful and allows users to create new wallets, initiate payments, and view balances. It returns JSON-encoded data.

EIDREIDR API: EIDR (Entertainment IDentifier Registry) is a universal unique identifier system for movie and television assets. This sort of identifier helps improve internal asset tracking as well as decrease the risk of misidentifying media. The EIDR API allows users to retrieve information from or write information to the EIDR database.

EmailBrainEmailBrain API: The service provides for management of blast email and newsletter communications with customers and other recipients. It provides for management of a subscriber base and address book as well as managing message content and display templates, with tracking of deliveries, click traffic, and opt-in/opt-out selections. Bulk SMS text messaging also is supported.

API methods support creating messages and scheduling them for delivery to existing and updated address lists. Methods also support interaction between the service and back-end systems like customer relationship management (CRM) and similar databases. This integrates personalized messaging with customer records and similar repositories of contact information.

EODDataEODData API: EODData is a provider of quality market data including stock quotes and historical charting data. Users can download up to 20 years worth of data, across a wide range of markets. Daily updates contain end of day quotes and intraday 1-minute bars. Platinum level partners can use the API which gives access to site data. This data includes exchange lists, symbol lists, historical data, splits, and more. In addition, the API lets developers create new users, setup usernames/passwords and give them access to specific exchanges. It uses SOAP protocol and responses are formatted in XML.

Euro Bill TrackerEuro Bill Tracker API: The Euro Bill Tracker API allows users of the Euro Bill Tracker service to search for bill information across the website as well as enter new bills. The API is available for registered users of the site, and allows the users to access the full functionality of the sites search and update services. Example calls include: log in, log out, check session, enter notes, fetch comments, fetch notes. The calls return in JSON or UTF-8 format.

Euro.messageEuro.message API: The Euro.message API gives users of Euro.message.com the full functionality of the website from their remote systems. The API allows users to manage all of their online marketing campaigns from a single service. The API is designed to be easily adapted into most systems and is available, for instance, as a web service or through the XML protocol.

Food Security DataFood Security Data API: The Food Security Data API provides means for downloading data and charts from FoodSecurityPortal.com. The site aggregates monthly economic, human well-being, food security, and other data from various indices. The API is based around Query builder which allows the user to create a unique request that will return only the data set wanted. This can then be integrated into existing applications, mashups, or simply used to pull selected data.

FrontlabFrontlab API: Frontlab provides software used for optimizing the production of print and online materials for businesses. The online publishing suite allows users to create and proof marketing and print materials that fit within established brands and visual identity. The Frontlab API lets developers automate standard tasks and integrate the service into their own systems. Public documentation of the API is not avaialble.

HighwireHighwire API: Highwire is a service that facilitates multi-channel online selling. It allows users to sell products on their own online store, eBay, and Facebook simultaneously. Highwire provides all the tools needed to set up and manage an online store, as well as to keep multiple storefronts perfectly synchronized. Highwire provides REST and JavaScript APIs that enable users to further customize and integrate their stores.

Home Energy Scoring ToolHome Energy Scoring Tool API: Provided by the US Department of Energy, the Home Energy Scoring Tool provides an "asset rating" of a home's energy use under standardized occupancy and operational conditions. The API allows developers to develop third party applications capable of generating home energy scores.

With these APIs, approved software developers can generate home energy scores as a stand-alone service or as an add-on to a home inspection or comprehensive energy assessment. Functionality of the API includes the ability to describe a home and get results and scoring label. The API uses SOAP calls and responses are in XML.

HotelsbaseHotelsbase API: Hotelsbase is the world largest hotel database, of over 500,000 hotels. It lists hotels and their room prices all over the world. Information within the database includes facility information, map co-ordinates, images, address, contact telephone, weather data, price per room and access to tripadvisor ratings. The API exposes this data to developers allowing them to build applications such as hotel search engines. It uses RESTful calls and responses are formatted in XML.

IconFinderIconFinder API: IconFinder is a search tool for graphic designers and web developers. The site acts as a repository of symbolic graphics. Users can search and browse the IconFinder for images suiting their needs. They can download or buy icons or whole sets of icons. Users may also submit icons and attach different levels of license protection to them. The IconFinder API is RESTful and exposes the collection’s search functionality, allowing users to use parameters such as keyword, filter by license, and more. The results are returned in JSON or XML-encoded data.

INOH Pathway DatabaseINOH Pathway Database API: The service, Integrating Network Objects with Hierarchies (INOH), provides access to a database of pathways among bio-molecules in several organisms, including humans, mice, and rats. The pathways recorded by the service define molecular connections that allow signal transduction in an organism. This information is documented largely in published articles, so the database is built by extracting knowledge from text to develop a machine-processable repository.

API methods support retrieval of graphs defining nodes and arcs (or edges) connecting them, based on selected criteria. Results delivered include the nodes involved in a particular pathway and the connections between them, distinguished by event type, including controlled events, controlling events, and others.

ISE OTSISE OTS API: The ISE OTS API (International Securities Exchange Options Trading System) allows developers to integrate the Options Trading System into their proprietary trading applications as well the ones provided by ISE. In order to use the API, developers must enter into a contractual agreement with ISE, under which they will received the API interface documentation, access to a test system, and a demonstration program to facilitate integration.

IsItBirthday IsItBirthday API: The IsitBirthday API is a read API that allows you to create feeds to help people remember your birthday. The main page allows you to enter your name and birthday, then it will generate a unique web page that can be visited to check if it is the birthday that was initially entered. The API also generates an RSS feed and gives the option of receiving the information in JSON.

JamcastJamcast API: Jamcast is a music streaming service. Jamcast streams digital media to DLNA compatible devices and applications, such as iTunes and Spotify.

The Jamcast API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality of Jamcast with other applications and to create new applications. Some example API methods include managing playlists, uploading music, and managing user information.

KonyKony API: Kony is a mobile application development service. Kony helps customers build mobile applications, as well as hosting mobile applications and providing backend solutions for mobile applications.

The Kony API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality of Kony with other applications and to create new applications. Some example API methods include synching data, managing user information, and managing events. Public documentation is not available; interested developers should sign up for more information.

LeadSyncerLeadSyncer API: LeadSyncer allows users to collect and organize leads on a mobile device, using either a wireless or cellular network. This allows leads to be reliably saved while at exhibitions, going door-to-door, or in other situations where one might be gathering information outside the office. LeadSyncer allows users to design their own data forms and export collected leads to Excel. Automatic synchronization is available when connected to the internet, but LeadSyncer still functions when no internet is available.

lifeIMAGElifeIMAGE API: lifeIMAGE is a service for healthcare providers, doctors, patients, and hospitals to manage share diagnostic imaging records with each other.

The lifeIMAGE API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality of lifeIMAGE with other applications and to create new applications. Some example API methods include accessing patient records, managing account information, and sharing patient records. LongLatToLocationLongLatToLocation API: The LongLatToLocation API is a service that allows you to submit the longetude and latitude of a ship, and it will return information about where you are. This information can include nearby ports and jetties and even country information.
The API uses C-flow integration to allow you to integrate your shift tracking data and this API into your inhouse systems and spreadsheets, calling up vessel and port history as you approach them.

MemsetMemset API: Memset is a hosting service. Memset offers hosting solutions for websites and servers. Memset also provides cloud solutions and monitoring solutions for websites and servers.

The Memset API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality of Memset with other applications. Some example API methods include managing account information, retrieving server information, and managing jobs.

MTG CanorisMTG Canoris API: The Music Technology Group (MTG) is part of the Department of Information and Communication Technologies at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. The MTG specializes in sound and music computing with more than 40 researchers coming from multiple disciplines. Research in the group is carried out on topics such as audio signal processing, sound and music description, musical interfaces, sound and music communities, and performance modeling.

The MTG offers Canoris a web service for audio analysis, audio similarity search and voice processing. Via the Canoris API developers have access to several technologies from the MTG and its partners including functionality for both the analysis and synthesis of sound, integrating into a single coherent platform the output of years of research in the fields of music information retrieval and digital signal processing. MyAdMarketMyAdMarket API: MyAdMarket is an ad serving platform that allows advertisers and publishers to trade online media between networks. The MyAdMarket API allows users to connect multiple platforms together. With the API, users can connect the platform to their existing CRMs, applications, tracking tools or billing systems. Developers should contact the provider for more information on the API.

MyNetDiary Food SearchMyNetDiary Food Search API: The service provides information about the nutritional content of more than 130,000 foods. Search and look-up functions are available on the site, by licensing the database, or via API. Applications supported include nutritionist sites, health-care providers, health clubs, and organizational wellness programs.

API methods support search across the database for matches to a food name. Methods also support a food detail listing of complete nutritional content, including calories, fat percentage, carbohydrate grams, and other nutritional information.

NexageNexage API: Nexage is a mobile advertising platform where users can buy and sell advertising for mobile applications. Nexage provides services for both publishers and advertisers.

Nigerian Stock ExchangeNigerian Stock Exchange API: The Nigerian Stock Exchange API is an easy and accurate way to implement NIgerian stock data on your web page. The API allows for a number of feeds: Top Ten Trades, Top Ten Losers, Top Ten Gainers, No Change, as well as a few more options. The site also offers a Newsfeed Marquee Widget.

NightLife TextingNightLife Texting API: The service provides SMS text and voice messaging to mobile phones in North America. It is targeted specifically to the needs of bars, nightclubs, sporting businesses, and event promoters, helping them to reach and communicate with prospective patrons. Available keyword-based campaign tools include text-to-win contests and text-to-join premium affiliate groups.

API methods support generating and sending both text messages and voice messages. Methods allow management of address book entries and recipient groups, specification of message content, and handling of incoming replies and other messaging.

OmnistarOmnistar API: Omnistar Affiliate Software allows web sites to setup and manage an affiliate program. The software integrates with other applications.

The Omnistar API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality of Omnistar with other applications and to create new applications. Some example API methods include managing users, managing the affiliate program, and managing occurrences.

Open Energy InformationOpen Energy Information API: Open Energy Information (OpenEI) is a knowledge sharing online community that aims to provide users with the latest worldwide information and data on energy resources. OpenEI offers a wide range of information including details about renewable energy incentives, access to energy data, and much more.

The API provides realtime access to data including information surrounding electric utility rates and incentives for renewables and efficiency associated with a specific location. The API uses RESTFUL calls and responses are formatted in XML and JSON.

Open North RepresentOpen North Represent API: Open North is a service that allows users to enter a Canadian address or postal code to find their elected representatives. The Open North Represent API provides REST-based access to a wealth of information about Canadian elected officials and electoral districts. It includes all Members of Parliament, all members of provincial legislatures, and municipal elected officials for 39% of the Canadian population.

PaagoPaago API: The service provides processing of payments related to e-commerce and online shopping activities. Functions available via the web and mobile devices include electronic invoicing, bill payment, and virtual terminal for processing payments by phone. The service can also process payments via Facebook and Paypal.

API methods support creation of invoices, either individually or on a recurring, scheduled basis. Methods can resolve payments via credit card, debit card, or automated clearinghouse (ACH) processes. Methods provide for management of customer/payor and recipient accounts, with regular reporting of transaction amounts and other details.

PaysonPayson API: Payson is an online payment service that allows you to shop or receive payment using it. The Payson API operates through HTTP Post calls and returns confirmation tokens to verify transactions. The API has full documentation of sample calls including code for building it into your system programming libraries C# and PHP. This site is in Swedish.

Pearson Nursing & Health Survival GuidesPearson Nursing & Health Survival Guides API: The Pearson Nursing & Health Survival Guides are reference manuals for healthcare and nursing students and professionals. The Guides are a part of a series that cover a range of health topics, such as cancer, diabetes, labor, and more.

The Pearson Nursing & Health Survival Guides API allows developers to access and integrate the data and information from the Pearson Guides with other applications. Some example API methods include retrieving books, retrieving articles, and listing article and book information.

Peer39Peer39 API: Peer39 helps partners improve the relevance of their online display advertising by providing data based on the content and structure of web pages. Peer39 analyzes pages across three channels: Quality, Safety and Category, enabling buyers to use this data to make decisions that align the page environment with the brand definied by advertisers. Peer39 offers a SOAP based API that lets developers integrate the service into their own applications. Public documentation is not available.

PolicyMapPolicyMap API: PolicyMap is a service from the non-profit, The Reinvestment Fund, that provides data on demographics, crime rates, and housing that is geocoded and mapped.

The PolicyMap API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality and data from PolicyMap with other applications and to create new applications. Public documentation is not available; interested developers should contact PolicyMap for access: http://www.policymap.com/contact.html.

PushBugPushBug API: The service allows applications to deliver notifications, called Tile and Toast messages, to mobile devices running the Windows Phone 7 operating system. It centralizes and simplifies error and problem reporting by alerting registered devices when error conditions are triggered, while at the same time notifying Microsoft of bugs or problems uncovered in the operating system.

API methods support sending of either tile or toast notifications, either immediately to a single device or via queued delivery to multiple devices. Queued delivery allows for multiple retries where devices are not available to receive messages. Methods also allow retrieval of a list of devices associated with an account.

QuisqueQuisque API: The Quisque website provides resources for recreational treasure hunters. In recreational treasure hunting, the player has to resolve puzzles and enigmas created by an author in order to find a planted treasure. The APIs provided by Quisque are designed to help players decipher these clues. Available APIs include decryption services for a variety of ciphers, a heraldry database, and an image comparison service.

The website and documentation are provided primarily in French with an English language option available.

ResflyResfly API: Resfly is a web-based job publishing service which allows hiring professionals to post a job to multiple leading job boards and social networks. It has all the features needed to manage the entire hiring process including publishing a job, collecting applications through a hosted career portal, and measuring the effectiveness of hiring campaigns with real-time analytics.

The Resfly API lets users access the functionality of the service programmatically. Functionality is spread across companies, jobs and candidates. The API uses RESTful calls and responses are formatted in XML and JSON.

SailthruSailthru API: The service manages email communications with customers based on analysis of their behavior and activities within a system. It also coordinates messaging via email, SMS text message, website content, and other channels, for customized messaging. Each recipient receives a message specifically tailored to their patterns of interaction with the sender. Options for use include transaction confirmation messages, blast promotional messaging campaigns, and similar customer contact activities.

API methods support sending customized email to individual recipients, scheduling and delivering blast email or SMS campaigns, and managing subscriptions, contact preferences, and opt-out requests. Methods also handle backend processing such as status reporting for current communication activities and customer address book imports and exports.

ScienceSoft LaTeXScienceSoft LaTeX API: ScienceSoft is an Austrian company that develops software for scientific applications. ScienceSoft's LaTeX service allows users to convert LaTeX documents into PNG images. This service is available as a web console, a SOAP API, or a REST API. The website and API documentation are available in both German and English.

SendGrid ResellerSendGrid Reseller API: SendGrid's cloud-based email helps keep emails out of spam folders, provides a cloud service that scales with email demands, and provides email analytics to track opens and clicks.

The Reseller API allows users with SendGrid reseller accounts to manage customers and emails. Functionality includes monitoring of records, managing whitelabel settings, reviewing accounts and more. The API uses RESTful calls and responses are formatted in XML and JSON.

ShutterProShutterPro API: ShutterPro is an online, cloud photo storage and photo sharing service. ShutterPro also provides photo backup services. Users can make their photo albums public or private and can share photos across social media.

The ShutterPro API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality of ShutterPro with other applications and to create new applications. Some example API methods include uploading images, sharing photos, and managing account information and photo content.

SITA Boarding PassSITA Boarding Pass API: SITA's 2D Boarding Pass API creates and delivers a IATA Fast Travel standard compliant 2D boarding pass image based on information and boarding pass delivery preferences provided by the airlines departure control/check-in application. Delivery options include email, SMS, Apple PassBook (PassKit compatible) or the board code image can be displayed on web, mobile web or pushed for used in smartphone apps.

SmarterTools SmarterMailSmarterTools SmarterMail API: SmarterTools is a software company that builds applications for small and medium sized businesses. Their software includes solutions for email, help desk and analytics. SmarterMail delivers Exchange-level email server software and instant messaging to businesses. The SmarterMail API lets users manage administrative email server tasks. Users can manage the spool, add users and domains, set alerts to warn of dictionary attacks, watch bandwidth usage and emails sent, and more. Documentation is not publicly available.

Snowy EveningSnowy Evening API: Snowy Evening is a bug and issue tracking service for developers and clients. Snowy Evening provides issue management solutions.

The Snowy Evening API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality of Snowy Evening with other applications. Public documentation is not available; API access is available with account service.

SubscriptionBridgeSubscriptionBridge API: SubscriptionBridge is a subscription management system provided by Early Impact, an ecommerce solutions business. SubscriptionBridge combines automated recurring billing with account management functions. The account management functions allow online retailers to communicate with their customers, adjust or customize customers’ subscription plans, and more. They offer an API to integrate SubscriptionBridge with other web tools for merchants, such as checkout, shopping carts, and notification systems. It is a RESTful API and returns XML-formatted data.

TicTacToeTicTacToe API: The TicTacToe service allows users to play the game tic-tac-toe. It is unclear from the available documentation whether the game would be played against another person or an AI. The TicTacToe service can be accessed programmatically via SOAP API.

TrailforksTrailforks API: Trailforks is a user-powered mountain biking trail database for Canada. It includes information such as trail locations, 3D maps, trail features, and current conditions. Trailforks also serves as a platform for riding associations and riders to log work done on trails and monitor trail issues. A REST-based API enables users to add or retrieve trail information programmatically.

TrumpiaTrumpia API: Trumpia provides multimedia-marketing solutions. Clients can employ Trumpia to manage their marketing campaigns though SMS, email, voice broadcasts, and social media. They can reach a wide range of audience to support a wide range of industries, from real estate to academia and education. They provide a RESTful API that exposes most of the data retrieval functionality and message posting. It provides XML responses.

TTAGG StockTTAGG Stock API: The TTAGG Stock API provides developers access to daily stock data for over 6000 companies. This free API is accessible through a simple URL call and returns JSON only, but will eventually support CSV, TEXT and XML. The API will return data based on the ticker provided, the start date, end date, and time format requested.

TurboBridgeTurboBridge API: TurboBridge is a high-definition audio conferencing service. TurboBridge offers conference calling features, such as conference rooms, dedicated phone lines, and multiple conference IDs.
