As days become shorter and shorter ushering in a new season, yet another week API profiling comes to an end. Lets take a look back at some of the APIs that caught or attention this week. This week there were 42 APIs added to our directory this week and our team picked the ones that stood out most. Read below for more information on each.
My pick this week is the Open Bank Project. An open source API for banks that enables account holders to interact with their transaction data using a wider range of applications and services, the tagline for this project is “Bank as a Platform. Transparency as an Asset.” The Project aims to invigorate banking by bringing outside ideas and innovation to the business. - Holly

The Datumbox API exposes some very cool tools. It’s capable, for example, of extracting the important text from a given webpage, or detecting the similarity between two documents. This API provides a playground for the creative developer. - Patrick

I love the concept of InvisibleHand: a browser add-on that redirects you to the lowest price for whatever you're shopping for online. In practice, they don't yet cover all products and services, but they do cover many of them and are continuously expanding their offerings. Their big draw for API developers is their accumulated pricing and product data, which has many possible uses for retailers and bargain-hunters alike. - Rhea
