In the past week we have had two outstanding mapping mashups named Mashup of The Day. Both of these mashups found interesting uses for mapping technology. Below you can see details on the two mashups and read about how they are changing the way we look at mapping. Lets get started with Vaguely Rude Place Names Of The World.

Vaguely Rude Place Names Of The World - This project is a great example of how mapping mashups can be used for fun. It allows you to view cities on a world map that have... interesting names. Just be sure to check this one out while you away from the office. APIs used include: Cloudmade LeafletOpenStreetMap. More at our Vaguely Rude Place Names Of The World profile.

Flight Tracker - This tool is slightly more conventional. Flight Tracker uses information from ADS-B enabled aircraft, to display a map that shows to location of planes as they fly around Brisbane Australia. APIs used inclide: Google Maps. Check out more at our Flight Tracker Profile.
