Every day somewhere between 2 to 10 new mashups get added here at ProgrammableWeb. Which means there is rarely a shortage of interesting, inventive ones in the mix. This week's include a plot generator, a creative way to perform authentication, and mashups being used by PBS broadcasting.
- PlotShot, the Random Plot Generator: A random plot generator with a twist, this site uses the Flickr API to retrieve shots that match the plots. Sometimes the result is a series of amazing matches, other times it is funny how wrong they are.
- idproxy.net: Uses the Yahoo BBAuth API to let you use your Yahoo account as an OpenID. You can read more about this in creator Simon Willison’s blog.(Speaking of OpenID, as you can see on Techmeme, there was quite a buzz this week when Microsoft announced support for OpenID 2.0.)
- KQED Quest: Quest utilizes all of the KQED Public Broadcasting media platforms. Interactive site uses Google Map and Flickr mashups to present high-quality television programs, radio spots, blog postings, education guides, and map-based explorations.
