Big Titles Scored for AMD’s Mantle API

Developed by AMD, Mantle is a 3D rendering API that reduces CPU overhead by utilizing low-level GPU architecture, allowing for complex applications with lower latency. Their API has been met with open arms from game developers who want more control over their device.

VideoCardz, a news source and community surrounding graphic processing units, recently published a list of Mantle-supported games. With Battlefield 4 already deployed, support for unreleased titles continues to grow. Large titles like Sid Meier’s Civilization: Beyond Earth, Star Wars: Battlefront, Sims 4, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and the next new Mass Effect now populate future the Mantle-support repertoire. Though unconfirmed, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare & Grand Theft Auto V are rumored to be the next games to add support for this powerful processing unit.
