Daily API RoundUp: Halo, Tradable, NASA, mParticle, Instacount, Knetik

Every day, the ProgrammableWeb team is busy, updating its three primary directories for APIs, clients (language-specific libraries or SDKs for consuming or providing APIs), and source code samples. If you have new APIs, clients, or source code examples to add to ProgrammableWeb’s directories, we offer forms (APIs, Clients, Source Code) for submitting them to our API research team. If there's a listing in one of our directories that you’d like to claim as the owner, please contact us at editor@programmableweb.com.

Fourteen APIs were added to the ProgrammableWeb directory in categories such as Images, Networking, Games, Voice and Monetization. Featured today are three beta APIs for Microsoft's popular Halo video game. Here's a rundown of the latest additions.

APIs

Halo is a first person shooter video game from Microsoft with science fiction / military themes. There are three beta APIs available for accessing game data, including Profile API, Stats API, and MetaData API. The Halo APIs are listed under the Games category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Games APIs.

The Tradable platform API allows developers to embed realtime financial trading features into apps across multiple brokerages via one simple integration. Users can access trade accounts directly from favorite apps. The Tradable API is listed under the Financial category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Financial APIs.

IP2Location's IP2Proxy Proxy Detection Web Service API allows instant detection of anonymous proxy, VPN and TOR exit nodes by IP address. Credits are needed to perform queries which can be purchased on the website. This API is listed under the Networking category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Networking APIs.

NASA's Global Imagery Browse Services (GIBS) API allows access to a database of Earth observation data. It offers hi-res satellite images in a tile pyramid format, and loads of other mapping data. It's powered by "OnEarth", a NASA/JPL server system. The ccc API is listed under the Images category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Images APIs.

Bitbond is a Bitcoin lending system. This system works as an intermediary between Bitcoin investors and borrowers. The Bitbond API is used to gain access to this P2P network, create an investment client, and obtain historical data about loans and borrowers. Bitbond API is listed in the Bitcoin category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Bitcoin APIs.

Chinese Text Project is an open source digital library that makes pre-modern Chinese texts available to readers and researchers. Chinese Text Project API provides methods for integrating content and functionality of the CTP with other websites and applications. This API is listed under the Chinese category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Chinese APIs.

mParticle is a data automation platform designed to deliver easier marketing and analytics integrations. The mParticle API can be used to add functions to apps such as push notifications, analytics, monetization without changing the code. The mParticle API is listed under the Marketing category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Marketing APIs.

Instacount is a cloud based counting service that features sharded counters. A sharded counter is a counter whose count is stored in independent shards, and its purpose is increasing performance. This API offers event tracking, entity counts, and activity tracking. The Instacount API is listed under the Tools category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Tools APIs.
