- First, as we reported yesterday they now have an alpha of the Windows Live ID Client SDK.
- Second, they launched Windows Live Web Service, formerly known as s the MSN Search Web Service Beta. Features of the SOAP-based API include weather and movie time queries, placename queries (coffee seattle), and SearchTags functionality. And although the limit on the number of results has increased, it's still capped at 1000, up from 250. SOAP search APIs have been in the news lately, most notably in the Google API Controversies. We have updated the ProgrammableWeb entry for Live Search here.
- Third, Microsoft announced the new unified "Windows Live SDK". This new brand incorporates 11 APIs ranging from the Windows Live Expo API to the Microsoft adCenter API (yes, it does exist and is public now).
It's likely this is just the beginning of lots of Live API news in 2007.
