The Semantic Research API documentation is not publicly available. The company specializes in knowledge structures which primarily have to do with law enforcement and intelligence. In Semantic Research's own words,
"Since 2001, Semantic Research, Inc. has been using NetCentric Intelligence® to drive the next generation of breakthroughs in intelligence analysis with the Department of Defense, the Intelligence Community, and Law Enforcement Agencies. Semantica®, the NetCentric Intelligence platform, has been used by counter drug, counter terrorism, judicial protection, cyber, counter threat finance, anti-piracy and many, many other programs. Programs using Semantica as their analytical backbone have been responsible for protecting the U.S. from terrorist threats, from transnational criminal organizations, countering improvised explosive devices, supporting troops in battle and targeting our enemies near and far. Our programs are recognized as some of the most innovative, cost-effective and successful at stopping bad things from happening."
The API webpage does indicate that the APIs are RESTful, support customer and third-party development, and makes using the platform on mobile and other interfaces possible.
The Wikipedia article on Semantic Research describes how the Semantica Network works:
"In Semantica, a knowledge structure is an interrelated collection of facts or knowledge about a particular topic. It is composed of entities linked to other entities by labeled bidirectional relationships. An entity may be related to any number of other entities via any number of relationships. In this manner a knowledge structure takes the form of a semantic network. Unstructured documents, such as word processing documents or JPG images, may be incorporated into this structure, just as a file may be attached to an email message; these become special nodes in the network known as attachments."
As they explain on the home page, "It's not enough to connect the dots. It's understanding how the dots are connected."
Semantic Research is based in San Diego, with additional offices in Crystal City, VA, just outside of Washington DC.
