SendGrid, a leading cloud-based email service, has announced that the company has joined the Google Cloud Platform Partner Program giving App Engine developers a trusted third-party and non-native option for adding transactional email management and delivery services to their applications. In addition, Google App Engine customers will have access to SendGrid APIs, real-time analytics and reporting all of which are powered by Google services infrastructure.
The availability of SendGrid email services on the Google Cloud Platform provides developers a scalable transactional email platform that allows them to quickly and efficiently build, test and deploy Google Cloud Platform-powered apps with transactional email functionality. SendGrid provides Real-time analytics and reporting via a Suite of APIs which includes:
- Web API - Allows customers to retrieve information about their account such as statistics, unsubscribes, etc.
- Customer Subuser API - Retrieve, create, enable and disable subusers, retrieve information about subusers such as statistics, bounces, unsubscribes and more.
- Inbound Parse API - Parse the attachments and contents from incoming emails. (Available to free demo accounts and silver or higher SendGrid packages.)
- Event APIs - Will notify a specified URL via HTTP POST with information about events that occur as SendGrid processes your email. (Available to free demo accounts and silver or higher SendGrid packages.)
SendGrid CEO Jim Franklin comments in the press release that:

SendGrid is offering Google App Engine customers who sign up for SendGrid email services 25,000 free emails per month which includes basic deliverability features, SMTP server integration and APIs, customer support and advanced analytics. Advanced email services are also available in other SendGrid / Google Cloud Platform pricing plans.
