Coinkite launches a new API to streamline the construction of cryptocurrency systems. Plus: Twitter acquires mobile payment infrastructure provider CardSpring.

New Coinkite API to Streamline Cryptocurrency Systems

Coinkite, with a mission to make cryptocurrencies as easy as cash, has launched a new API that could revolutionize cryptocurrency use. API methods allow users to check balances, send funds, create vouchers, search transactions, and monitor deposits/withdrawals/logins/etc. Perhaps frightening to some, the API also allows remote access to all Coinkite enabled terminals (e.g. users can print receipts from a remote location).

The API functionality is tremendous, but step one for anything money related is security. Coinkite’s new API  PubNub to provide realtime updates and monitoring capabilities. For more information, visit the Coinkite documentation portal.
