ESPN API Now Supports International Sports Including Olympics

The Olympics have been the focus of the sports world for the last couple of weeks and ESPN has capitalized on this by releasing the latest update to its API. Developers now have access to schedules, results, and medal count information.

ESPN has also listened to soccer fans by letting developers access soccer news, team and athlete information, standings, scores and schedules for all major soccer leagues.

LinkedIn Revamps API Terms and Updates Developer Platform

LinkedIn has announced changes to their API terms of service and updates to their Developer Platform in an effort to allow users to take their LinkedIn identity with them across the web. According to The Register:

What this means in practice is that the company will grant outside developers access to email addresses for its users upon request. Those coders will be able to "specify permissions from users who want to use their LinkedIn credentials to sign in and register for applications," the firm explained.

500friends500friends API: 500friends is a social loyalty program for retailers, companies, and brands to use to engage and reward their customers. 500friends offers social marketing features, such as badges, currency, and other rewards for their customers.

The 500friends API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality and features of 500friends with other applications. Public documentation is not available; API documentation and access comes with accounts.

AuthyAuthy API: Authy is an authentication service for websites and applications. Authy uses a two-factor authentication process for secure websites and applications.

The Authy API allows developers to access and integrate Authy's functionality with other applications and to create new applications. Some example API methods include managing users, adding users, and verifying users.

Biscom FaxBiscom Fax API: Biscom offers fax and document delivery services. Biscom Fax is a fax server and software that allows businesses to access and host their fax services.

The Biscom Fax API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality of Biscom Fax with other applications. Some example API methods include managing faxes, managing account information, and retrieving faxes.

BrowsemobBrowsemob API: BrowseMob is an ecommerce negotiation platform. Users can shop around on the Internet for items they want. Then, through BrowseMob, they can name their own price. BrowseMob sends the offer to the retailer to accept or deny.

The BrowseMob API exposes BrowseMob Connect, a RESTful API currently only available via a Magento extension. BrowseMob Connect allows retailers remote acceptance or denial of users’ offers. The API returns XML and JSON-encoded data.

BugsnagBugsnag API: Bugsnag captures exceptions from web, mobile, and desktop applications in real-time, so they can be understood and resolved as quickly as possible. It provides a pair of RESTful APIs that enable users to access its functions programmatically; the Notifier API and the Deploy Tracking API.

The Bugsnag Notifier API can be used to alert Bugsnag of an error or exception in an application. The Bugsnag Deploy Tracking API tracks multiple deploys of an app so that developers can identify the deploy in which an error was introduced.

DoYouBuzzDoYouBuzz API: DoYouBuzz is a resume management platform. It has many features for designing and sharing users’ resumes. Users begin by creating resumes out of template formats. The resume then becomes its own customizable website with integrated analytical and sharing features. DoYouBuzz will also allow users to publish resumes in multiple languages, import data from LinkedIn, and will make recommendations. DoYouBuzz offers APIs for partners and for the usage of their application. Both expose essential functionalities to access and update user information. It is a RESTful API that returns JSON and XML data.

EXACTME!EXACTME! API: EXACTME! is a job recruitment platform. It allows users to share their skills and talents to prospective employers through a social media-like interface. Their platform includes features that allow users to express themselves professionally, such as profiles, analytics, recommendations, and more.

The EXACTME! API exposes its employee search functionality to affiliated websites, but does not have public documentation.

Get Me ListedGet Me Listed API: Get Me Listed is a local marketing service. Advertising agencies and search marketers can use it to improve businesses’ visibility in local listings. Get Me Listed provides a local market research analysis platform with keyword analysis, recommendations, reviews locators, and more. The Get Me Listed API exposes the research platform’s integration functionality and allows developers to connect it with in-house and third party software.

ITweetLiveITweetLive API: ITweetLive is a platform to search Twitter and maximize Twitter engagement. Users of ITweetLive can set up Twitter searches by keywords, group Twitter users for accurate engagement, and access Twitter analytics.

Open Weather MapOpen Weather Map API: Open Weather Map provides interactive maps of current and historic weather conditions. The Open Weather Map API allows users to retrieve the current weather at a city or weather station, the historical measurements for a weather station, or a list of cities and/or weather stations in a given rectangle (limited by geographic coordinates). The API uses RESTful calls issued in JSON format.

Resighting Resighting API: Resighting is an application for geo-tagging and saving favorite places. Resighting allows users to also see other Resighting places nearby and create collections of favorite places.

The Resighting API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality of Resighting with other applications and to create new applications. Some example API methods include listing places, listing sightings, resizing photos, and managing account information.

SponsorPaySponsorPay API: SponsorPay is a platform that allows game publishers and game developers to get paid through their applications and advertising.

The SponsorPay API allows both application publishers and developers to access and integrate the functionality of SponsorPay with their applications and to create new applications. Public documentation is not available; API access and documentation comes with account service.

The InterviewrThe Interviewr API: The Interviewr is a recruitment interview platform. Users can manage their interview processes through its multiple task and media management functions. Employers can track potential recruits and schedule interviews with them via a simple dashboard. Interviews can also handled and recorded through the Interviewr platform as well. The Interviewr API exposes functionality to access and update profile and interview information. It is a RESTful API that returns JSON-encoded data.

WalkMeWalkMe API: WalkMe is a platform that allows website owners and application developers and designers create custom step-by-step instructions for various procedures on their website or application, such as eCommerce, registration, and other online or mobile tasks.

The WalkMe API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality of WalkMe with other applications. Some example API methods include managing account information, playing back walk-through instructions, checking status of walk-through instructions, and accessing user activity.

Woocation DistanceWoocation Distance API: Woocation gives travelers information about the places they want to visit. The site does this by collecting as much data as it can about a place.
