Facebook kills Yandex Wonder by denying access to the Facebook Graph API. Evernote announced an overhauled developer resource site that aims to please all. Plus: Google makes AdWords API usage free, building a RESTful API with ExpressionEngine templates and 12 New APIs.

Facebook Kills Yandex Wonder

Yandex, the Russian search giant, recently announced the release of social search app Wonder. The company used a proprietary algorithm, combined with data from Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, to create a voice-powered social search app. I am sure this won’t surprise any of you but Facebook didn’t like this. The result of Facebook’s discomfort with what they view as competition, is Yandex having its access to Facebook’s Graph API revoked. Another one bites the dust. This news come almost two weeks after Facebook snubbed Voxer.

Evernote Overhauls Developer Resources

Evernote announced yesterday the release of an updated developer resource site. Some of the key features added to the resource are: Quick startup, multi-tiered documentation and self-service knowledge.

Today we had 12 new APIs added to our API directory including a mobile application advertising and monetization service, an indoor mapping and commerce platform, a mobile application backend service, an online and mobile polling service, an online commerce and payment platform, an online subscription and billing service and a mobile application syncing service. AarkiAarki API: Aarki is a mobile application and game advertising and monetization platform for publishers, advertisers, and developers.

The Aarki API allows developers to access and integrate the reporting functionality of Aarki with other applications to feed in reporting and data metrics about advertising and monetization. GoPollGoGoPollGo API: GoPollGo is an online and mobile tool for surveys, polls, and gathering opinions and answers from people. GoPollGo can be used with Facebook, Twitter, email, and by embedding links. GoPollGo offers reporting features and answer analysis.

Lexity Commerce CentralLexity Commerce Central API: Lexity Commerce Central is an online commerce platform. Lexity allows users to bill and accept payments online for goods and services.

SwippSwipp API: Swipp is a social sharing platform. Swipp seeks to integrate knowledge sharing with social sharing in one platform. Users can share what interests them and see what others around them and in the world think.
