Telstra Announces TIPT API
Telstra, Australia's largest telecom and media company, has announced that it will make its Telstra Internet Protocol Telephony (TIPT) platform available to third party developers via an API. TIPT provides voice and video communication over the internet and is key to the company’s VoIP product offering.
Philip Jones, Telstra’s Executive Director of Global Products and Solutions, commented:
"We are enabling our customers and partners to do things that they haven’t been able to do before by integrating our carrier grade voice and video TIPT solution into their businesses.”
The TIPT is the latest API available in Telstra’s robust API portfolio. The company hopes the latest API will help create new business models and revenue streams for its customer and partner community.
InteractiveTV Today Brings tvot^ Hackathon Back to San Francisco
InteractiveTV Today [itvt] has announced that it will host another tvot^ hackathon June 7-8 in San Francisco. Advanced television leaders (e.g. Gracenote, DirecTV, National Geographic Channels, Boxfish, Nuance, Peel, Brightcove, etc.) will bring together developers, hackers, directors and other experts to dream up and design new TV/video apps and experiences. Finalists and winners will be announced at the TV of Tomorrow Show 2014 (June 10-11) also in San Francisco.
The grand prize, sponsored by Gracenote, will be $6,000. Additionally, other sponsors will offer a host of prizes. Those interested can register here.
