For Web Runtime (WRT) widget developers, Nokia offers free plug-ins and extensions for Aptana Studio, Aptana Studio Pro, Adobe Dreamweaver, and Microsoft Visual Studio that speed the creation, testing, packaging, and deployment of WRT widgets. And the Nokia Platform Services 2.0 beta JavaScript API offers a simple way to access device data and features.

Guarana UI - jQuery Web Runtime UI

The Guarana UI Library is a jQuery-based set of customisable UI elements, application frameworks, and templates that can be used for the creation of user interfaces in Nokia's Web Runtime platform.

Web Runtime APIBridge

Nokia has released an APIBridge component for Web Runtime Widget (WRT) developers. This component was once internal and only available to select Nokia partners (e.g. facebook, netflix, project). This bridge component enables developers to extend the features of WRT by using various capabilities of Symbian OS. Check out the APIBridge here.

Events: Winner Announced in Nokia's Hackathon 2009

At this spring's Nokia Developer Summit 2009 in Monaco, an intense 24 hour hackathon was held where competing developers built some very innovative mobile apps. Who won? It was David Castro and the team at Plusmo for their "Social Location Widget". Congratulations go to David who will be one of the first to receive a Nokia N97 which will be pre-loaded with his very own app, and Plusmo, the developers from California who were presented with a cheque for €15,000.
