HEDAC is an Organization that focuses it’s efforts to contribute to two causes that directly affect our population in Canada as well as far from home in developing countries where health care and money are scarce.

In July of 2006, our eyes were opened to severity of addiction by a close friend. His son was having problems substance abuse and addiction, and as a result we witnessed first hand the impact addiction can have on someone’s life. With disease all around us, including AIDS, Malaria, Tuberculosis and addiction, and knowing that there simply were not enough recourses available for people in need, we decided to act. We organized our ideas, put our passion for helping victims of addiction into action and established an organization that would focus on treatment and recovery.

Since our founding, we have made significant progress in contributing to the fight against disease in order to save the lives of people in developing countries, the establishment of initiatives such as HEDAC has helped to scale up the global recourses to fight disease.

HEDAC in MoneySense Magazine

MoneySence did an expose on Canada's 40 largest charities in their Dec 2009 issue.

In that expose, HEDAC was named the second best charity in Canada.

The article is called "Cause for Concern" and reveals the low charitable disbursement activity of the Heart and Stroke Foundation, MS Society, and the Canadian Cancer Society etc...

MoneySence call it a ranking by administrative cost, which shows Heart and Stroke at 50% because of their lottery cost, etc.... They also rank the best and HEDAC is on the Second Place.

Mission

Global Mission

HEDAC’s two main objectives are to directly affect the lives tens of thousands of families by providing support for victims and families affected by addiction in Canada as well as funding millions of dollars in much needed health support pharmaceutical assistance to the impoverished worldwide, DONATE NOW to support HEDAC’s immediate and long term response to fight disease and addiction

Our Cause

The Directors of HEDAC have been tirelessly involved in community and health relief efforts for the past 15 years, The most common infectious diseases throughout the world today include Malaria, Tuberculoses, AIDS, Hepatitis A, B and C, Cholera, Dengue, Influenza and Typhoid. Accurate caseload numbers are difficult to determine, especially because so many of these diseases are endemic to developing countries, where many people do not have access to modern medical care. Overcrowded and poor living conditions make those living in poverty especially vulnerable to communicable diseases such as Tuberculoses and Cholera. Limited access to health care and drugs renders otherwise treatable conditions such as Malaria and Tuberculosis fatal for the poor.
