There's always been a little annoyance on the end of affiliate APIs, those that pay developers money for referring buyers. In exchange for a potential sale, developers have to send their users to the company's site to complete the transaction. In the future, many of those purchasers will be able to remain using the developer's application for the length of the sale. We're a step closer to that future with a new release from API management company Mashery (a ProgrammableWeb sponsor). Mashery customers can now process transactions through their APIs, which means the potential for applications with lower barriers between a customer and a sale. And yes, that little annoyance at the end of affiliate APIs could be going away.
Warranty Life launched for a single purpose: "[develop] an easy-to-use system that takes the filing, searching and frustration out of keeping track of product warranties." In its short existence, Warranty Life seems have to achieved its goal by improving warranty attachment rate to sales by 60% and its innovative system is now in use by hundreds of retailers across the US. Warranty Life wants to extend its reach and its value proposition by offering the Warranty API that can integrate with third party applications and websites.
Just months ago, Chirpify was known as the company that "turns tweets into transactions." Chirpify has now deemed such commerce "in-stream commerce" and CEO (Chris Teso) has an interesting outlook on the industry that he feels Chirpify leads.
