Programmable Web now tracks over 4,600 mashups. Every day one new app is chosen as mashup of the day. And then, sometimes we like to point out a few that especially catch our attention.
Sometimes there's just too much interest in open data. The Greater London Authority has temporarily pulled its feed of the Underground due to "overwhelming demand." The service gave locations of every subway train in the city updating in nearly realtime.
Anyone who lives in even a smaller city knows the importance of neighborhoods. Portland (where I live), for example, is really more like a collection of many connected small towns. Each has its own handful of coffee shops and restaurants. The people behind GeoReach API (our GeoReach API profile) understand this. The API provides neighborhood boundaries, along with local content.
