ReadWriteWeb's Rick Turoczy recently reported in "Dark Side of the Cloud" the recent incident that resulted in a loss of data for ylastic, a company that facilitates management of Amazon's AWS environments for businesses.
ProgrammableWeb first covered Point.io last year when the Point.io API was released. The original API gave mobile apps access to data from multiple cloud storage providers. Point.io has expanded its single point of access approach with the release of APIdoc. APIdoc provides a single API that grants any application access to data that resides in a public cloud, private cloud, behind a firewall, or elsewhere. While providing seamless access to multiple data repositories, APIdoc ensures security for compliance and auditing purposes.
Hewlett-Packard is looking to make its application testing tools more accessible than ever via implementations that are hosted in the cloud. Developers can access these tools via RESTful APIs. Kelly Emo, director of product marketing for HP Software, says that by making HP LoadRunner 12 and HP Performance Center 12 available as a cloud service, HP is making a concerted effort to introduce a broader spectrum of organizations to its application testing tools.
