Beeminder is a goal tracking service that allows users to set goals and track their progress towards them with incentives along the way.
The Beeminder API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality of Beeminder with other applications and to create new applications. The API methods include retrieving information about users, retrieving information about goals, and retrieving datapoints.
Of the many APIs we published this week, eight were highlighted on the blog by our team of writers. In this post, we’ll illuminate those eight by throwing them into the spotlight. The eight included the Locu API, a database API that exposes Locu’s business information. Locu is constantly searching the web for business data. This allows developers real-time information about prices, menu items, venue information and etc. With their success in the restaurant industry Locu is now aiming, with the API, to branch into other markets. To learn more about Locu visit the Locu API blog post and the Locu site.
In its company overview, Beeminder asks: "Is there anything you know you should do, you really do want to do, you know for certain you can do, yet that historically you don't do?" Beeminder proceeds to deem itself a useful service to anyone who answered yes to any of the asked questions. Beeminder recently announced that its functionality is open to third party developers (via the Beeminder API) so users can commit to goals and track progress through third-party applications.
