Phobius is a tool that uses the amino acid sequence of a protein to predict transmembrane topology (which regions of the polypeptide chain span the lipid bilayer) and to identify potential signal peptides (sequences that direct protein transport). The Phobius API provides access to the functionality of this tool via REST and SOAP protocols.
