The EMBOSS Stretcher API allows developers to use a modification of the classic dynamic programming algorithm which makes use of linear space in order to calculate an optimal global alignment for two DNA or protein sequences. These sequences may be submitted in GCG, FASTA, EMBL (Nucleotide only), GenBank, PIR, NBRF, PHYLIP, or UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot (Protein only) format.
This version of the API uses SOAP, and responses are formatted in XML.
