The GHTorrent API is a project based service for developers that is working to make the GitHub REST API queriable. By creating a scalable, offline mirroring of the data offered through the GitHub REST API, it provides tools for such services as monitoring GitHub's public events timeline, offering a messaging queue that sits between event mirroring and data retrieval phases to be able to run on a cluster of machines, and release data collected during the phases as downloadable archives. It collects information from the GitHub API and populates it into two data bases: raw data and linked entities.

ProgrammableWeb's how-to content comes from two sources; full-blown tutorials that we publish ourselves and other highly relevant tutorials that we find elsewhere on the Web. This list represents on combination of both tutorial types and if you go to ProgrammableWeb's API University, you'll not only be able to find more, they are organized based on your role (API providers or developers who consumes APIs). If you know of a tutorial that would be of interest to the ProgrammableWeb community, we'd like to know about it. Be sure to check our guidelines for making contributions to ProgrammableWeb.
