Use the Goodreads API to get the books on a shelf, get your friends' updates, link to a book by ISBN or other method, get the url for a book or author, get a members' friends, look up a member by email address, and get reviews by ISBN.
The Goodreads API allows developers access to Goodreads data in order to help websites or applications that deal with books be more personalized, social, and engaging. The API can be used in many ways, including:
Review Syndication: Goodreads has 10 million reviews across 700,000 titles. The API lets users display these reviews on their website.
Goodreads Connect: Members can connect to their Goodreads account, and developers have full access to the books, ratings, and reviews the member has in their shelves, as well as the member's friends. This can be used to personalize an ecommerce store, power recommendations, show a widget of a member's favorite books, build a mobile or desktop client app, and more.
The API uses RESTful calls and responses are formatted in XML.
The following is a list of SDKs from our SDK directory that matched your search term. Though your definition of an SDK may differ, in our world, we define SDKs as platform- specific tools for consuming existing APIs of the sort we list in our API directory. For example, the Ruby SDK for consuming the Twitter Ads API. If you think an SDK, API, or other asset is missing from our directory, be sure to check our guidelines for making contributions to ProgrammableWeb.
The Goodreads Python SDK by Michelle D Zhang interacts with the API to access personalized, social, and engaging data from book preferences. Documentation is available at https://www.goodreads.com/api/index
