The NatureServe API provides access to NatureServe's information about more than 100,000 rare and endangered species and ecosystems in the Americas which are published on NatureServe Explorer. JSON formats are available to perform HTTP requests and receive HTTP responses. Overview of search services include species taxonomy, scientific taxonomy, ecosystems taxonomy, status, and location. NatureServe is a non-profit consortium of biodiversity scientists that works with 100 network organizations and over 1,000 conservation scientists to collect, analyze, and standardize biodiversity data.
