Navionics is a location, GPS, and mapping service. Navionics provides maps, locations, and geocodes for numerous areas and in a variety of conditions (marine, skiing, etc.).
The Navionics API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality and data of Navionics with other applications and to create new applications.
Of the many APIs we published this week, seven were highlighted on the blog by our team of writers. In this post, we’ll shine a spotlight on those seven, which included the FaxLogic API. FaxLogic is a cloud-based fax-service that combines normal fax machine functionality with features of analog fax, Internet fax and fax servers. FaxLogic securely sends, stores, manages, and receives fax through email eliminating the need for phone lines, while also enabling scanning options that previously didn't exist. To learn more about the FaxLogic API visit the FaxLogic site as well as the FaxLogic API blog post.
Navionics announced a new web mapping API in Java to bring its navigation charts and other content to developers. The Navionics API is free, and is not to be incorporated in a fee-based website at this point. Of the three tiers for pricing, silver, gold and platinum, the API does not access the top of the line product. Languages supported are English, French, German, Italian and Spanish. A sign up is required to access the API's technical information.
