Vid.ly is a cloud-based video hosting service that, in addition to basic hosting services, is designed to optimize video playback for different devices and systems. Once a user provides source video, Vid.ly will host the content on their server, and convert the source video into 22 output renditions. When an end-user requests the video, Vid.ly detects the device and operating system they are using, and delivers the video best optimized for the playback environment.
The Vid.ly API operates over HTTP POST using XML, and offers methods for uploading, updating, and deleting videos. This web service also exposes functionality for gathering video playback statistics. Furthermore, users can manipulate the format parameters when uploading or updating videos to create custom video renditions based on their anticipated user needs.
The following is a list of sample source code snippets that matched your search term. Source code snippets are chunks of source code that were found out on the Web that you can cut and paste into your own source code. Whereas most of the sample source code we've curated for our directory is for consuming APIs, we occasionally find something interesting on the API provider side of things. If you know of some sample source code that would be of interest to the ProgrammableWeb community, we'd like to know about it.
