The Whois XML Registrant Alert API allows developers to find out which domains were added or dropped by registrants matching the given search criteria (i.e., registrant info, name, email, phone, address, etc.). It can also alert users whenever search terms appear in newly-registered or just-expired domain names. The API is backed by a database containing close to 600 million domains and 6.7 billion+ WHOIS records. Practical uses include brand protection and domain names monitoring (including ownership changes) for domainers and registrars.
Sixteen APIs have been added to the ProgrammableWeb directory in categories including Big Data, Transportation, and Translation. Featured today is an API from Caret for enabling applications to trigger automatic status alerts, and APIs from MeaningCloud that extract meaning from content.
