Square has launched the Register API for Android only a couple of months after releasing the API for iOS. The API allows developers to build end to end point-of-sale solutions that utilize Square's entire payment platform, or that integrate with third party infrastructure and applications.

Google has released gRPC 1.0, a universal RPC Framework that can be used to build performance-oriented web applications. gRPC is based on Stubby, a single general-purpose RPC infrastructure used by Google for many years. gRPC 1.0 is a GA release and can be considered production ready.
