Decoupling

In programming, decoupling refers to the act of segregating software components so that a code change in one does not have a cascading effect on other components. Code may be decoupled to enable easier updates to systems. Other reasons to decouple software may be to improve reusability, avoid undesirable dependencies, or bring security benefits.
