HTTP DELETE

The DELETE HTTP verb enables an API to remove the selected resource(s) from a server. An online store, for example, may send a DELETE request to erase a product. Once an item has been deleted, a host will typically respond with an "OK" status to confirm the deletion, unless an error has occurred. DELETE is one of many HTTP verbs. Web APIs use HTTP methods to act upon resources in various ways. DELETE is a resource modification method. Compared to data retrieval HTTP methods, modification methods often require elevated permissions to edit resource states. The equivalent CRUD operation to DELETE is DELETE.
