HTTP PATCH

The PATCH HTTP verb enables an API to partially modify a resource. Whereas PUT is used to replace a resource completely, an API uses PATCH to edit one aspect of the entry. This makes PATCH good for updating files. For example, an API for an online store may utilize a PATCH HTTP method to rename a misspelled product. PATCH is one of many HTTP verbs. Web APIs use HTTP methods to act upon resources in various ways. PATCH is a resource modification method.
