jQuery

jQuery is an open-source JavaScript library frequently used in front end web development. jQuery helps developers create interactive experiences that manipulate a website's elements. Its core features include DOM traversal and manipulation, animations, event handling, and Ajax. When developers make websites, they create HTML and CSS code to refer to separate components on a web page. jQuery makes "querying" these elements easy, by traversing a Document Object Model (DOM). With automated element selection, jQuery then manipulate elements to change their state. For example, JQuery could be used to fade out a button element, trigger a script to make an API call, display a banner after a click, or other visual animations. jQuery is known for strong cross-browser support and the ability to create and reuse plugins. The jQuery library a JS Foundation project and has been utilized by thousands of web developers.
