Linting

Linting is the process of validating code to find errors. Not all code is written perfectly or adheres to style guidelines. Thus, a linter program can help expose incorrect style, bugs, suspicious code, or errors that may impede the code compile process. For example, an application may be developed to lint a company's OpenAPI Specification YAML file to ensure its specification adheres to the standardized conventions for OpenAPI specifications as set by the industry. Linting helps developers create code that is cleanly formatted and error and vulnerability free.
