The 500px Ruby wrapper by Chris Micacchi has been designed to interact easily with the API capabilities of search, retrieve, and upload photos. It aims to reuse HTTP connections. 500px is a community of photographers who can showcase their projects, discover new photography styles, and find royalty-free art.
Photo Hack Day 4 erupts April 6th, and runs nonstop through the weekend. The first Photo hack Day brought together photographers, web designers, photo editors, and computer scientists for the first image-centric hackathon. Since the original 200 hackers threw together almost fifty mashups in a single weekend (two years ago), Photo Hack Day has blossomed in number, creativity, and excitement as it readies itself for a fourth rendition. A competitor created an export tool for Flickr ex-patriots, so the photo sharing site shut down the Flickr API developer key.
